Clarke House Park is named after the William Clarke Estates. The park is located at 1039 Kingsley Ave. in Orange Park FL. William Clarke originally built his home in the early 1900's and had a little farm with horses, cows, chickens, goats, and many more animals. The original property was 30 acres and in 1991, the town purchased the remaining 15 acres. The Clarke home still stands and in July 1998 was placed on the U.S National Register of Historic Places.
The park has had the parking lot recently paved with plenty of parking spots. The playground area has swings, a sandbox, and a huge wooden castle for the bigger kids. The castle has bridges, slides, and plenty of things to climb on. There is a toddler area that has a smaller jungle gym with smaller slides. On the east side of the park, there is a nature trail that is a half-mile long.
The Clarke house park is great for birthdays and family reunions. There are plenty of covered pavilions each has a BBQ grill and electrical outlets. There is a place to have family fun and play beach volleyball and if you forget to bring drinks there are 2 vending machines and plenty of water fountains throughout the park.
